Alanya - A Paradise Combining Warm Sunshine With Rich History
Alanya Cruise Port sits in a picturesque harbour on the Turkish Riviera, 125 km from Antalya International Airport, and 42 km from Alanya Gazipaşa Airport. It is overlooked by Alanya’s spectacular medieval castle, which sits atop a rocky peninsula.
With 300 days of sunshine each year, and an average sea temperature of 22ºC, the historic and thriving resort of Alanya is - in itself - an exciting cruise destination. Alanya Cruise Port is also the gateway to a landscape of long sandy beaches, idyllic coves, canyons, rivers and caves, and to the rich culture, archaeology and hospitality of the Mediterranean region of Turkey.
Lying on routes connecting the ports of Greece, Egypt, Israel, Lebanon, Syria and Cyprus, our purpose-built terminal serves only cruise ships and the Kyrenia-Alanya fast ferries. It is operated by ALİDAŞ, a member of MedCruise, and became ISPS compliant in August 2004.
More information about The Port
The site of modern Alanya was first settled in the Paleolithic Age, about 20,000 years ago. Known as Coracesium by the 4th century B.C., according to legend it was a gift from Marc Anthony to Cleopatra. Known as Kalonoros prior to conquest by the Seljuk Sultan Alaadin Keykubat I in 1221, it was renamed Alaiye in honour of the Sultan. Alanya was given its present name in 1935, by President Atatürk.
